Sustainability
In its activities, FET is guided both by international practices and standards and by policies adopted at company level.
Every day the world’s population grows by more than 100,000 people.
The issues of food supply, satisfaction of basic human needs in safe, high-quality and at the same time affordable food and water in many countries are linked to social stability and economic growth, and in some countries — to the preservation of sovereignty. Food is becoming a global and strategic commodity with an ever-increasing demand in the long term.
Participating in shaping these global food flows is both an opportunity and, of course, a great responsibility.
Preservation of the ecosystem — land, water, and the diversity of flora and fauna of Russia — not only as a natural need of man intelligent and responsible to future generations «to preserve what nature has created and perfected for millions of years and passed down to us as a gift,» but also as a factor in long-term, sustainable development and security.
The company cooperates only with responsible producers, and also makes great efforts and actively participates in the development of industry initiatives aimed at self-organization and legislative control over the treatment of land and water by business entities, as well as the overall impact on the environment. When appraising potential partners, FET uses Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria to make a decision about potential partnership.
Through conservation and development, we take care of the well-being of people, land and nature in Russia. We handle waste and effluents responsibly, apply technology with a minimum amount of chemicals, carefully control their residue and prevent accumulation in the soil and products.
We are purposefully building long-term relationships with partners, industry associations and local authorities in order to spread the practice of socially responsible business.
We comply with the laws of the countries in which we operate and require the same from our partners, including the payment of taxes, the conduct of business activities within the legal framework and compliance with local business and social etiquette.
The FET standard is to observe the principles of moral and social responsibility of business to society and the state, and only then to maximize shareholder value and capitalization of business.
We believe that supplying people with food by participating in shaping global food flows is a noble cause, a great honor, and an even greater responsibility.
