For Russia, Bahrain is a very important partner, our country is interested in developing and expanding of cooperation with it in various fields. Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko drew attention to this at the meeting with Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Bahrain National Assembly of Fauzia Abdullah Zeynal during a visit of the delegation of Russian senators to the Kingdom from December 4 to 6.
The speaker expressed gratitude for the warm welcome given to the Federation Council delegation in Bahrain.
“This is my first visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. We have very serious intentions - to discuss the whole scope of our bilateral relations with the participation of our parliaments, ”she said.
Valentina Matvienko is going to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Matvienko congratulated the Kingdom on the approaching 50th anniversary of Bahrain's independence, which the country will celebrate on December 16. The speaker reminded that the USSR was one of the first to welcome the independence of the Kingdom and to congratulate it.
“For Russia, Bahrain is a very important partner. We are interested in developing and expanding of the cooperation in a variety of sectors - economy, culture, education and healthcare," Matvienko said.
