On September 8, 2017 the the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission on Cooperation and Development of the Far East and Baikal Region of the Russian Federation and Northeast China was held in Khabarovsk.
It is co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev and Vice-Premier Wang Yang of the State Council of China.
The both sides talked about deepening practical cooperation between regions of Far East and Baikal Region of the Russia and Northeast of China.
The final Protocol of the Commission noted that “Parties will promote the further development of export supplies of food and agricultural products from the Russian Far East and the Baikal region to China”. Also “Parties are going to continue support Russian and Chinese companies involved in the construction of roads and railways, ports and other objects of cross-border infrastructure on the territory of Far East and Baikal region”.
