On April 12th, the Russian Federation Embassy in Beijing will host a presentation of the economic and investment potential of the Trans-Baikal Territory. One of the issues that are planned to discuss will be the construction of a border trade complex "Zabaikalsk - Manchuria". This was reported on April 10th by the press service of the Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory.
- The event participants will discuss the project of the border trade complex "Zabaikalsk-Manchuria". It provides for creation of the united territory with a simplified regime for entry and exit, movement of goods and capital, and provision of services. In addition, it is planned to present to major Chinese tour operators the results of the regional government's work on creation of "red" (historical-revolutionary) tourist routes and cooperation with the People's Government of the IMAR on the development of such destinations. At the same time, as the part of the event, it is planned to arrange an exchange of contacts and to attend an exhibition dedicated to the Trans-Baikal Territory, the press service of the department said.
It is noted that the presentation will be attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to China Andrey Denisov, Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Natalya Zhdanova, heads of the regional ministries of natural resources and agriculture, as well as representatives of Russian and Chinese manufacturing enterprises operating in the region.
The presentation program also includes information on the creation of the territory of advanced socio-economic development in Krasnokamensk, and about elaboration of a comprehensive plan for the development of the Trans-Baikal Territory until 2030, etc.
It is also planned to consider the possibility of attracting Chinese direct investments in the reconstruction of Russian checkpoints across the state border.
