The first batch of wheat from Russia crossed the Russian-Chinese border on April 9th at the Manchuria border point, the Chinese information portal Zhongguo Xinwenwang reported.
“The goods were rigorously examined by international independent organizations and only after that were purchased for supply to Chinese market. In the next three to five years, Manchuria plans to become the largest point of foreign trade in agricultural products with Russia,” a Chinese source informs.
As EADaily reports, at the end of March, as part of the implementation of the New Land Grain Corridor Russia-China initiative, a long-term contract was signed between Export Food Trade LLC and the Chinese company Sino-European Agricultural Development for the supply of Russian agricultural products to China . According to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev, under this contract, about 1.5 million tons of agricultural products will be supplied from Russia to China in 2018-2019, and more than 50 million tons of agricultural products - by 2028.
