November 6, Ilya Shestakov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation - Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, held a working meeting with the head of the State Grain Administration of the Chinese Republic, Mr. Ren Chzhensyao.
Both parties positively assessed the development of bilateral relations in the agricultural sector. They discussed issues related to the access of the Russian grain to the Chinese market, mechanisms of pricing for grain, as well as the current state and prospects of development in the Russian grain-producing industry.
Ilya Shestakov said that Russian regions and exporting companies are interested in the speedy start of the grain supply and its processing products in China. The issue related to the access of domestic agricultural products to the Chinese market are under scrutiny of the Russian government.
The Chinese side expressed its interest in developing cooperation in this area and suggested their participation in the construction of transshipment points on the border between Russia and China, as well as upgrading the existing grain storage facilities in the territory of the Russian Federation.
