On March 29th, with the participation of the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Alexander Tkachev, a long-term contract was signed between Export Food Trade LLC and the Chinese company Sino-European Agricultural Development for the supply of Russian agricultural products to China.
This concerns the export of Russian soybeans, barley, rapeseed, flax seeds, as well as unrefined sunflower oil to China.
Deliveries will be made within the framework of the initiative "New Land Grain Corridor Russia - China", supported by the leaders of Russia and China.
“In recent years, the presence of Russian companies in the Chinese market has been actively expanding. We plan that about 1.5 million tons of agricultural products will be exported from Russia to China under this contract in 2018-2019, and more than 50 million tons of agricultural products by 2028” said Alexander Tkachev.
It was noted that preparations for the departure of the first train, which will arrive at the end point of the route, Qinhuangdao City (PRC) in second decade of April 2017 are currently underway.
“This year we plan to send several trains with legumes and oilseeds from the 2016 yelds. Each train will transport about 2,000 tons of agricultural products,” the minister stressed.
Alexander Tkachev added that the implementation of such projects for export infrastructure development will ensure an increase in the supply of high-quality Russian agricultural products to the Chinese market, where it is already in high demand.
