Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has appointed supervisors for Russian regions. They were chosen from among his acting deputies, a source close to the government told RBC.
This information was confirmed by another representative of the government apparatus. According to his words, the order has already been signed, and new powers will be implemented together with the State Council and the executive council for strategic development and national projects. New supervisors bear responsibility for socio-economic development of the territories.
Victoria Abramchenko will control Siberian Federal District. Now she is responsible for subsoil use, forestry and ecology.
“The main fuel, energy and forest resources are concentrated in Siberia, but the ecological balance issue is still actual. The appointment of Abramchenko as the territory supervisor will allow us to take measures in these areas in a comprehensive manner. The Deputy Prime Minister was born in Siberia, she is well acquainted with the district that she will supervise, ”as RBC source commented on the decision.
Vladimir Putin told about a new approach to work with the regions during a television question-and-answer session on June 30. According to the president, this will increase the efficiency of decisions of the central authorities.
“The Institute of Supervising will ensure the unity of the regional development policy in order to achieve national goals and the results of national projects. Deputy prime ministers will need to be involved in solving problems at the local level, ”the RBC source added.
Victoria V. Abramchenko was born on May 22, 1975 in Chernogorsk, Republic of Khakassia. In 1998 she graduated from the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University (Institute of Land Management, Cadastre and Environmental Management), in 2004 - the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation.
Prior to assuming the position of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Abramchenko performed her duties as Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the head of Rosreestr for almost 4 years (from October 11, 2016 to January 21, 2020).
