The Russian Government expanded the program of Far East development to the Trans-Baikal region

The Russian government expanded the action of the Far East subjects border areas development program to the territory of Trans-Baikal region and the Republic of Buryatia.

The relevant Government Order of the Russian Federation from December 28, 2016 № 2883-r "On Amendments to the Federal Government order on October 28, 2015 N 2193-r" On Approval of the Concept of the Russian Federation border territories development, which belong to the Far Eastern Federal District and the Baikal region ", was signed by the Head of the Government Dmitry Medvedev.

In Trans-Baikal Territory and Republic of Buryatia, the main directions of cross-border co-operation are:

- creation of enterprises by extracting and processing of natural resources and agricultural products;

-construction objects of transboundary, border, transport and tourism infrastructure;

-development of transport corridors for implementation of export-import and transit potential of Trans-Baikal Territory and Republic of Buryatia, with following access to the transport infrastructure of People's Republic of China (it’s central part), as well as to international sea ports;

-tourism and international cross-border hiking trails development, health resort treatment and the creation of available and comfortable tourist environment of border areas.

Separately, in the Order of Federal Government, regarding the development of international transport corridors was highlighted the project by creation of the first "Railway Grain terminal Zabaikalsk- Manzhouli.", implemented by "GRAIN TERMINAL ZABAIKALSK" LLC.
