Presidium of the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects

The Zabaikalsk grain terminal has very important role in the implementation of the priority project of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia for stimulate the export of national agricultural products.

The press office of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation informs that on May 30th the Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev attended a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects chaired by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

On the meeting was discussed the implementation of the project "Export of agricultural products", which is to support associations of agricultural producers and the creation of logistics centers for the export of agricultural products. In his report, Alexander Tkachev noted that the project is being implemented in accordance with the schedule. Also, the important direction of work is the development of the commodity-exporting infrastructure. Among the most important projects, he noted the completion of the construction of the Zabaikalsk grain terminal (8 million tons of grain transshipment).

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russian Federation, together with the Russian Export Center, is preparing a government decree providing for the compensation of part of the costs for transportation of agricultural products and food by rail for long distances.
