Large elevator complex with an annual turnover of more than 500,000 tons will be launched in the Novosibirsk Region in the context of the New Land Grain Corridor (NLGC) project. It will be located in the Kargatsky district. It is planned to invest almost 5 billion rubles in this project.
The construction agreement was signed on September 6 at the Eastern Economic Forum. It was signed by Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Andrey Travnikov, CEO of the New Land Grain Corridor Sergey Pushkin and CEO of the Regional Investment Development Agency Alexander Zyryanov.
As the head of the region emphasized, due to the fact that the transport costs of Novosibirsk farmers are very high in consequence of remoteness of ports and border crossings from the main markets, the government of the Novosibirsk Region is currently developing logistics infrastructure. One of such projects is the construction of a linear terminal designed to form large batches of crop products for export purpose.
In the nearest future, NLGC will open a so-called "dry" terminal in the Trans-Baikal Territory for the export of agricultural products from Russia to the People's Republic of China. Thus, a logistics chain from the purchase of large batches from Novosibirsk farmers to shipment directly through the “dry” terminal to the markets of China and other Asian countries will be created, the Governor noted.
“Thanks to this agreement, the Novosibirsk Region will become a part of a unique network of seven largest linear elevators in Russia designed for Russian grain supply to the leading Asian markets. The Novosibirsk elevator is designed for one-time storage capacity of 200,000 tons and turnover of 500,000 tons per year. Moreover, 120 new workplaces will be created owing to it. This investment project is being implemented entirely due to the private investments — about 5 billion rubles,” said Sergey Pushkin.
The NLGC program is supported by the Russian President and Government as well as by intergovernmental commissions and Eurasian Economic Commission. Target regions of the country, within the program, will develop contract production of grain crops, legumes and oilseeds, along with the grain processing and storage infrastructure - represented by the network of linear elevators in seven regions. It is planned to create an export land and sea grain logistic infrastructure for export supplies to China, Asia-Pacific countries and Central Asia.
