«Food Export Trade» (part of the Russian group of companies «New Land Grain Corridor») and commercial company «Cute Family» signed a contract for supply of 5 million tons of grains, legumes and oilseeds to the territory of the People’s Republic of China until the end of 2024 with possible extension.
Transshipment of agricultural products under the contract concluded between the companies will be carried out using capacities of the specialized full-cycle land grain terminal «Zabaikalsk-Manchuria». This contract became the next step in the implementation of the program «New land grain corridor Russia — China», which is aimed to stimulate grain production and logistics infrastructure in the Far Eastern, Urals and Siberian federal districts, with the support of the governments of both countries. In May 2023, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin instructed the Government to develop an intergovernmental agreement between Russia and China concerning this project.
For reference:
«Food Export Trade» is an authorized operator of the «New Land Grain Corridor» program for development of the grain «contract farming» and main elevator infrastructure in the Urals, Siberia and Far East regions. The company being a holder of export contracts implements formula pricing technology and applies advanced scientific research in the field of crop production.
Grain Terminal Zabaikalsk is the world’s first specialized land grain terminal and the largest grain logistics facility that supplies China with up to 8 million tons of production annually. This facility will provide a profitable and short route for the export of grain products from the territories of Urals, Siberia and Far East to China by solving the technical problem of the railway tracking difference between two countries.
