During the upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 25, Russia and China will sign a contract for the wheat supply to China and a memorandum on the construction of the railway grain terminal in the Trans-Baikal Territory, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told reporters.
"As for the agricultural project, we are talking about the construction of a grain terminal in the Trans-Baikal Territory... In this regard, we have already agreed not only to start the project, actually we are planning to prepare a memorandum for the visit of our leader to China and following this memorandum, after, we will already sign a contract for this kind of serious, large supplies of wheat to the PRC,” Rogozin explained to reporters following a meeting of the co-chairs of the Russian-Chinese commission for the preparation of the summit. Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang is the commission co-chairman from the Chinese side.
Rogozin noted that it is large-scale practically significant project for the Siberian region, which is associated not only with the supply of raw materials in the form of grain, but also with deep grain processing along with creation of an extensive railway infrastructure and facilities for processing of grain products.

Regarding the volume of wheat supplies, Russian deputy prime minister noted that it would "depend on China's needs, but stressed, that "it will have great amounts."
Last year on December 17th, Russia and China signed protocols on phytosanitary requirements for wheat, corn, rice, soybeans and rapeseed, which are exported from Russia to China. China allowed the supply of wheat growing within the Altai and Krasnoyarsk Territories, as well as in the Novosibirsk and Omsk Regions, while corn, soybeans, rice and rapeseed should be grown in the Khabarovsk, Primorsky and Trans-Baikal Territories, the Amur Region and the Jewish Autonomous Region.
