A 21st meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission for preparing 22nd regular meeting of Russian and Chinese heads of government was held on October 30 in Chongqing, China, under the co-chairmanship of Vice Premiers D. Rogozin and Wang Yang, the member of the newly elected Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 19th CPC Central Committee.
The meeting was also attended by the Politburo member of the CPC Central Committee, the Secretary of the Chongqing City Committee, Chen Miner.
The parties noted that the Sino-Russian relations led by the Leaders of the two countries reached the highest level in their history, and this is a powerful political guarantee for our practical cooperation.
Also, there was an improvement in the situation in 2017 with bilateral trade and progress in implementing major projects. The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Yevgeny Nepoklonov, in his report noted that the Russian side is interested in continuing joint work on the development elevator infrastructure and the construction of grain terminals.
Similar infrastructure projects are already being implemented jointly with the Chinese side. This is, first of all, an important initiative "The New Land Grain Corridor Russia-China", within which the Transbaikal Grain Terminal is being built. The Russian side is ready to provide this project with all the necessary support.
An important long-term point of growth in bilateral trade could be the mechanism of "contract production", it is a long contract with the formular price, allowing to increase in Siberia and the Russian Far East the production of the non-GMO soybean and other cereals required by China.
