As was reported by the OZK Press-Service, United Grain Company JSC (OZK), the only infrastructure company with state participation in the Russian agricultural market, and its Egyptian partner, Astra Limited Company (Cairo), have established a joint venture in order to supply Russian grain to the Egyptian market, incl. to the main consumers - millers, processors, etc.
“OZK Group is a multiple winner of the tenders of the Egyptian General Authority For Supply Commodities (GASC). Increasing the company's presence in the Egyptian market is the part of our strategic development plan,” Ksenia Bolomatova, Deputy General Director of the OZK JSC, commented this event.
As specified, the new joint venture will operate under the name "Agro Nil" and will be located in Egypt. OZK JSC has joined the founders of the joint venture through its international trade division - Grainexport SA (Lausanne, Switzerland).
It is also reported that one of the possible activities of the Agro Nil Company, in addition to the grain export, will be the implementation of investment programs in the Russian industrial zone in Egypt.
According to the plan the Agro Nil Company will start operating in the first quarter of 2022.
