It is important for China and the Central Asian countries to go on with diversification of transit and transport routes introducing integrated logistics solutions, including through the launch of new land routes. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke about this at the Central Asia-PRC summit, as Kapital.kz business information center reports.
"On its part, by 2025, Kazakhstan plans to invest $20 billion for these purposes. It will surely expand transit routes from China, meeting the growing needs of the countries in the region as well.
The head of state is confident that the new transport communications development will ensure the economic growth of the entire Central Asian region.
"In general, according to the World Bank estimates, development of transport communications in Central Asia can provide for a 15%growth of the gross domestic product of the five countries. This is a huge reserve and we surely need to use it. We are open to any rational proposals in this area," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized.
The President of Kazakhstan considers it important to go on with joint efforts with China on the One Belt, One Road construction.
"The whole world felt practical benefits of this large-scale project. I consider it important to enhance joint work on further construction of the One Belt, One Road, including through the implementation of the high added value large-scale projects. It first of all concerns the areas of digitalization, green technologies and innovations, where China's successes are most obvious," he said.
