GRAIN YELD IN SIBERIA BECAME A RECORD FOR 15 YEARS — 18.5 MILLION TONS

The grain yelds in the regions of the Siberian Federal District (SFD) this year amounted to 18.5 million tons, as Anatoly Seryshev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the SFD, said during a meeting on Tuesday.

“The district has not gathered such crops for more than 15 years... Thanks to this, we have full opportunity to increase the export of agricultural products by 2024 in accordance with the task set by the President of the Russian Federation,” the District Information Center (OIC) quoted Mr. Seryshev as saying.
The plenipotentiary noted that the Altai Territory and the Novosibirsk Region made a significant contribution to the total grain harvest (about 6 million tons and 3.5 million tons respectively).
The press service of the Altai Territory previously reported that the grain yields in the region this year was 40% higher than last year and turned to be the largest in last 20 years. This year, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region noted a record grain yield - 23.3 centners per hectare.
