Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Hu Chunhua at the Tuesday meeting discussed a number of documents to be signed at the IV Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
«As part of work of the intergovernmental commission, we discussed a number of documents that we would like to prepare for signing at the IV Eastern Economic Forum, which will take place in three weeks in Vladivostok,» Mr. Trutnev said following the meeting of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission.
As he said, «one of the main documents that we would like to sign at the forum in the context of our cooperation is the program of cooperation between the regions of the Far East, Baikal region and northeastern provinces of China.»
«There were a number of rather complicated issues, which we discussed in detail today during our private session, so I am grateful to Mr. Hu Chunhua, Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China, for adopting a very constructive position. They corrected their policy concerning almost all issues that, let’s say, caused difficulties in signing the document on our part, and we, in turn, also took several steps forward, so today the program has a chance of being signed,» Trutnev emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that «it will not be easy, because in three weeks it is necessary not only to draw up a text, but also to coordinate it with all departments, but in any case this task was set before us.»
The Deputy Prime Minister also said that at the meeting «a number of documents of the similar program nature were discussed, for example, a schedule of activities related to agricultural development, that also includes interesting decisions, for example, on the possibility of creating joint ventures in the agricultural sector.»
He added that large-scale projects are already being implemented — with the participation of Russian investors in the Far East, along with Chinese investors, and investors from other countries.
«In general, the Far East is demonstrating quite a rapid growth in terms of development of agricultural sector projects, and we must be ready to support this growth both in regard to mutual conditions and restrictions, and also in regard to infrastructure development issues,» Trutnev summed up.
The meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission on Cooperation and Development of the Far East and Baikal Region of the Russian Federation with the northeastern territories of China was held on Tuesday in Dalian, China.
