Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Viktoria Abramchenko ordered the Ministry of Agriculture and the Federal Fishery Service to identify problem issues and promising directions for the development of the agro-industrial and fishery complexes of the Siberian Federal District (SFD). The news was reported by TASS on February 10, referring to the Deputy Prime Minister protocol of orders.
"Identify problem issues in the field of agro-industrial and fisheries in the Siberian Federal District, promising areas for their development, considering the economic territorial specifics the Siberian Federal District regions, forecast climate changes, as well as the planned volumes of agricultural products exports," the document says.
Apart from this, the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Ministry of Economic Development, will have to analyze the list of investment projects implemented within the framework of the Agriculture and Food Industry cluster with a view to identify similar investment projects implemented within the framework of the government agriculture development program.
It's worth mentioning that earlier Abramchenko said that the new Siberian Federal District development strategy will be based on a cluster approach. There will be eight industrial clusters established in the region: "Aluminum Processing", "Non-Ferrous and Rare Earth Metals", "Precious Metals", "Oil and Gas", "Coal", "Forest, Wood Chemistry and Wood Processing", "Agriculture and Food Industry" and "Tourism".
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the launch of these clusters will attract investments worth 4.81 trillion rubles and create 271.4 thousand jobs by 2030.
