In the City of Chita, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation — Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation, Yuri Trutnev, held a meeting with investors of the Trans-Baikal Territory.
«Despite all the attempts of many countries to hinder our country development, the Far East is developing quite intensively. The indicators are rather high. Last year, about 700 billion rubles were already invested in the Far East, and 140 enterprises were built. Investment attracting activities are constantly carried out throughout the Far Eastern Federal District, including Transbaikalia,» Yuri Trutnev reported opening the meeting.
As the Deputy Prime Minister recalled, 47 investment projects are being implemented in the Trans-Baikal Territory with state support measures. Among them there are projects in the sectors of mining, agriculture, medicine, construction, tourism, and transport as well as in the logistics complex. An investment volume under the contracts concluded will amount over 316 billion rubles, 143 billion of which have already been made by investors. After the launch of the projects, more than 13 thousand new jobs will be created.
The meeting participants discussed implementation of projects in the mining industry, agriculture, tourism, and transport and logistics sector.

The issue of construction and further operation of the First Railway Grain Terminal Zabaikalsk-Manchuria was considered. Grain Terminal Zabaikalsk has become the world’s first specialized full-cycle inland grain terminal — in many terms: from the development of technical specifications and design documentation to equipment that provides not only high productivity (up to 1,200 t/h), separate storage, and transshipment, but also use of the highest standards in traceability, biological security, and product quality management issues. The project is the first and key element of the New Land Grain Corridor project supported by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, in 2016. The project is operated by the Grain Terminal Zabaikalsk, LLC (part of the New Land Grain Corridor Group of Companies). The terminal was launched at the TPD «Transbaikalia» on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in September, 2022 with the participation of Vladimir Putin. One-time storage volume of the terminal is up to 80 thousand tons, annual transshipment volume of grain, legumes and oilseeds is up to 8 million tons (134 thousand wagons). Project investments have reached 9.5 billion rubles. The terminal is undergoing the final stages of accreditations, licensing, and opening «by paragraph» in order to provide regular rail traffic. «Grain Terminal Zabaikalsk» is the largest high-tech facility in the region, which has implemented international standards in traceability, biological safety and product quality management. The terminal has already obtained accreditation from the relevant authorities of the PRC for transshipment of grain in the Chinese direction," said Karen Ovsepyan, Director General of the Grain Terminal Zabaikalsk, LLC.

«Projects being implemented in the Transbaikalia Territory are, to a great extent, very large-scale projects that are important not only for the Transbaikal Territory, but for the whole country. In general, investors’ requests come down to keeping the existing procedure for state support of investment projects as well as maintaining existing support mechanisms in the Far East. The government will continue to fulfill its obligations in full. And we expect the same from the investors. The investment cycle will continue both in Transbaikalia and throughout the Far East region as well» — Yuri Trutnev summed up the meeting.
