As reported by Russian Railways, the train will follow the eastern branch of the North-South land corridor using the transport infrastructure of Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran and India.
The first train started from Chekhov Station near Moscow. The transportation will be intermodal: part of the journey will be by sea. The final destination is the Nhava Sheva Port (Mumbai, India). The length of the route exceeds 8,000 km The estimated tranist time is 35-37 days.
According to Russian Railways, the route will allow Russian exporters to develop sales markets not only in India and the countries of the Persian Gulf, but also in Africa.
