The main commodity items in the structure of exports from Russia to Iran in 2015 in value terms were grain crops and sunflower oil.
MOSCOW, January 19th - RIA Novosti. Russia and Iran will consider proposals on development of bilateral trade in agricultural products and food, as well as discuss issues of cooperation in veterinary and phytosanitary supervision, fishing industry, according to the report made by Russian Ministry of Agriculture on Tuesday.
These issues will be discussed at the meeting between the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Alexander Tkachev, and the Minister of Agricultural Jihad of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmoud Khojati, in Tehran.
According to the Russian Federal Customs Service, in 2015, exports to Iran in the total volume of Russian exports of agricultural raw materials and food amounted to 3.1% or $484.4 million. The key commodity items in the structure of exports from Russia to Iran in 2015 in value terms were grain crops (91%, including wheat and meslin - 62.2%, barley 23.5%) and sunflower oil (5.1%)
Imports from Iran in the total volume of Russian imports of agricultural raw materials and food amounted to 0.7% or $194.3 million in 2015 (according to the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation). The key commodity items in the structure of imports from Iran to Russia in 2015 in value terms were vegetables (51.7%, including cucumbers - 29.8%, cabbage - 11.0%), fruits and nuts (40.3%, including other fruits - 14.7%, nuts - 11.3%, grapes - 8%) and processed fruits and vegetables (4.7%).
