In 2017-2018 agricultural year, which will end on June 30th, Russia will send 45 million tons of grain for export.
The construction of new port terminals in the Far East, Transbaikalia and Southern Russia will provide the possibility to increase export grain shipments by 30 million tons in 5 years. This was announced by the Agriculture Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev, speaking at the agrarian committee in the Federation Council.
“In terms of development of port facilities, we see prospects in construction of the Zabaikalsk terminal, to say shortly, as well as the Asian direction in Vladivostok. Сapacity increase is planned to realise in Novorossiysk, after completion of modernization, moreover a new port is now under construction in Taman. This will provide an additional 30 million tons of grain for export purposes in the next five years," he said.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, in the 2017-2018 agricultural year, which will end on June 30, Russia will export 45 million tons of grain, including 35 million tons of wheat.
