The Mayor of Kazan announced his intention to create a grain hub for the "New Land Grain Corridor" in Tatarstan

During a speech before the ambassadors of the BRICS member countries at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin spoke about his intention to create a grain hub of the "New Land Grain Corridor" in Tatarstan and implement the "Grain+" logistics model within the framework of the "New Land Grain Corridor" program implemented by Russia and China. As Ilsur Metshin noted, this will enable consolidation and delivery of grain and foodstuffs in specialized containers to friendly nations and return deliveries of cargoes needed by the industrial complex and population of the region to Tatarstan.

The mayor of Kazan also emphasized the importance of strengthening economic cooperation in the face of climate change, global economic and geopolitical disasters.

“If each country individually can suffer from any of these factors, then all together the BRICS countries can ensure their food security by creating a mechanism such as the BRICS Food Security Belt, which is being initiated today by the Russian authorities under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin,” - he said.
