A delegation from the Food Export Trade company paid a friendly visit to the Irito railway logistics terminal, which is located in China's largest border gate, Manzhchuria. During the meeting, representatives from the companies reached an agreement to jointly implement the logistics concept "Grain +" developed within the framework of the New Russia-China Land Grain Corridor program in order to expand trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China.
The Grain + concept aims to put into practice a new, highly efficient cargo transportation process based on overland cargo transshipment, which allows "matching" the two countries' "multi-track" railways and the grain cargo containerization mechanism that ensures 100% vehicle loading in both directions. This helps to reduce empty mileage while also greatly improving logistical economics and lowering costs.
The agreement will facilitate regular, consistent deliveries of Russian grain to the People's Republic of China's territory, as well as Chinese return cargo (machinery and consumer goods). Under the terms of the agreement, the Manchurian Logistics Company Irito will use its transport and logistics infrastructure to assure the acceptance of specialized grain containers in the People's Republic of China, as well as the loading of return cargo into them. With three branches of Chinese standard railways and three branches of Russian standard railways, the specialized integrated cargo terminal Irito is connected to both China's and Russia's railway networks, enabling regular transshipment in both directions.
