Kazakhstan supported the establishment of high-speed transnational corridors in the EAEU. The corresponding proposal was announced today by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, according to a BelTA correspondent.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the growing interest in land transport and logistics arteries between Europe and Asia on the continent. He stressed that the demand for a reduction in the delivery time of goods is now higher than ever.
"In this regard, the Eurasian Economic Union has a strategic advantage. We have significant potential for land transportation development, which can become one of the main factors in the post-pandemic recovery," the President of Kazakhstan said.
He believes that the EAEU countries need to establish high-speed transnational corridors and ensure their regional and global competitiveness more resolutely.
"In the context of linking transport arteries and food security, we consider it expedient to use more thorough approach to Kazakhstan's initiative to create a commodity distribution network of the Eurasian Economic Union," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
