The Eurasian Economic Commission Council has amended the quarantine phytosanitary control (supervision) procedures at the customs border and within the Eurasian Economic Union.
Now, in process of the quarantine phytosanitary control, it is allowed to use a phytosanitary certificate and shipping documents issued in electronic form. It will also be possible to register the results of such control in e-form. At the same time, the possibility of using hard copies of the documents shall also be possible.
"Changes to the Union regulatory legal documents in the field of plant quarantine will make it possible to use documents in electronic form, minimize the circulation of fake or invalid phytosanitary certificates and thereby to improve the effectiveness of quarantine phytosanitary control creating favorable conditions for market players," emphasized Viktor Nazarenko, EEC Technical Regulation Minister. "This decision is the result of the systematic work of the Commission and the bodies in charge of plant quarantine of the EAEU members states, which are aimed at a gradual transition to the use of e-documents."
